Clip Art

  • Classroom Clipart-- When using an image on a web page the image must include this link "Image Provided by Classroom Clipart" or Clipart provided by Classroom Clipart
  • Graphic Maps Free Clip Art -- Can be used on the web, with a link back to us,  - "clipart provided by: www.worldatlas.com".  Check each image; Country maps within WorldAtlas.com cannot be republished on the web.
  • Open ClipArt Library *
  • Discovery School Clip Art -- Any use of clip art images on Web sites must credit Discoveryschool.com and include a link to the Discoveryschool.com Web site. Credit must read - "Clip art licensed from the Clip Art Gallery on DiscoverySchool.com"
  • WiseGorilla Educational Clip Art -- May be used on the web without citing or linking - contains some good photos

 

Photos

 

  • Public Domain Photos: Collection of photographs which can be used for posting online! Please link back to the site if you use photos from here. The search feature is not recommended; click instead on the categories to drill down.
  • Wikimedia Commons: Searchable collection of photographs. Search for your topic AND the words "public domain" for easiest online posting. You MUST read the licensing agreement for any photo you wish to use to make sure permission to republish is given.
  • Pics4Learning - For online use, photographer's bibliography info and site must be used with each photo.
  • Earth Science World Image Bank - Can be posted online for Educational Use, but must cite sources (and include photographer, if given) Example: Image Courtesy United States Geological Survey; Image source: Earth Science World Image Bank and link to http://www.earthscienceworld.org/images
  • Library of Congress Prints and Photographs Popular Lists: Categories include architecture, history and events, and people.
  • Yotophoto
  • Images of American Political History : Images can be browsed by era as well as searched.
  • NOAA.gov - great weather and science photos, CANNOT be used for online posting unless permission is recieved in writing.  Image CAN be used in reports, with citations.
  • PicSearch - Search for images for use in school or personal projects; NOT for use in posting on the web.

 

 

Music, Sounds and Other Media 

  • FreePlay Music:  Music clips that can be used for IN -school presentaitons, but not published on the web or broadcast in the school.
  • Partners in Rhyme:  Free royalty free music loops and sound effects.   Clips from THIS PAGE can be used both in school and in publishing online;  on all other links, you must read carefully to choose free one (some options are for sale).
  • GarageBand Software on your computer- Create you own music you can use in projects or online!  Export your file to use in PowerPoints, in projects or online.
  • Internet Archive: Audio Archive of Our Media : Search for "Open Source Audio" clips; Check "attribution" requirements before using!
  • MusOpen: Musopen is copyright-free classical music that is in the public domain, (meaning a work that belongs to the community) which recorded by individuals and college/community orchestras throughout the United States and stored online so it can be accessed for free through this website.

  • Educational CyberPlayGround: Links to music portals and guidance on using sound files.
  • Public Domain Music : use of MIDI files requires a credit in this format: "The MIDI file performance of "[Song Title]" ([original source year of copyright and/or publication]) is copyrighted by Benjamin Robert Tubb (brtubb@pdmusic.org) webmaster of Public Domain Music (www.pdmusic.org)." 
  • Garage Band - Search for clips and download to use.
